Institute Role and Mission
The mission of the Institute for Innovation and Sustainability is improving the lives and well-being of people around the world through enhanced innovation and sustainability. The Institute is dedicated to accelerating a clean energy future, increasing environmental, economic and social equity, improving the health and well-being of people globally and raising people out of poverty. The Institute will realize its mission by expanding education, awareness, investment and activities to accelerate the innovation economy and build a more sustainable economy. The Institute will accomplish these goals through the following activities:
- Conduct conferences and educational forums on the subjects of innovation and sustainability;
- Conduct studies and publish reports and analyses covering innovation and sustainability;
- Establish a school, educational facility, or educational partnerships to educate and train on subjects associated with sustainability; and
- Implement and encourage a variety of market mechanisms and other approaches to facilitate and enable investments, expanding markets, increase employment, allocate of public and private resources, establish organizations and institutions, and introduce government policies, procedures, incentives and regulations associated with accelerating innovation and sustainability.

Information and advisory Services
Provide information and advisory services to government institutions, non-governmental organizations, corporations and other organizations to expand innovation and implement policies and initiatives to advance building a more sustainable economy.
Reports and Analysis
Measure and track key sustainability metrics, identify, assess and grade innovation clusters and initiatives, prepare sustainability and innovation road maps, and develop and make available tools and resources to aid in the advancement of innovation and sustainability goals and objectives.
Renewable Energy and Carbon Mitigation Solutions
- Renewable Energy - Provide consumers and businesses access to clean energy through clean energy project development and investment, direct purchase of renewable energy and access to carbon offsets.
- Carbon Offset Credit Card - Provide consumers and businesses a convenient no-cost approach to leverage everyday purchases to reduce carbon impacts.
Special Initiatives
- Puerto Rico - Engage the Puerto Rican government, the country's governing body, PREPA, the Puerto Rican Power Authority, local cities and towns, citizen's organizations and other interested and affected parties to create a more inclusive sustainable economy.
- India - Build out microgrids to accelerate bringing power to million s in India who lack access to electricity.
- Haiti - Contribute to building an inclusive regenerative economy in Haiti, premised on the principles of sustainable economics. Facilitate the development of local value generating enterprises within Haiti based on leveraging local resources and assets.
